History of LOT of DC  (Least of These Ministries

Many years ago, the LORD God Almighty spoke to Rev. Sammie Fitzgerald and told him to build a ship.

Rev. Sam began to reason and said “LORD, I know you are not talking about a boat, because you said that you would not flood the earth again with water. I also know that you are not talking about a space ship, because I have no knowledge about that area of engineering.”

He kept asking God to show him the type of ship He was speaking about. The LORD led him to study Matthew 25:31-46. Then He guided him to set up seven charitable services to provide for the least of these and the less fortunate in our community. They included:

  1. Clothing Closet

  2. Food Pantry

  3. Social Services

  4. IT Solutions and Services

  5. Music, the Arts, and Education

  6. Nursing Homes and Hospital Care

  7. Youth Ministry

His brother, Deacon Isaac Fitzgerald, advised him to incorporate as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) entity. He also advised him to “Do what you document and document what you do". LOT of DC registered with the IRS & DC, and was approved for non-profit charitable corporation status in February 2017.

The LORD then told Rev. Sam to start a Daily Devotions and Bible Study from 6:15am – 8:00am that include the following every morning:

  1. Invocation

  2. Opening Song

  3. Meet and Greet

  4. Spiritual Vocabulary

  5. Devotions – Word, Prayers, Fellowship in the Word

  6. Bible Study – Love Journey Through the Bible

The LORD then directed Pastor Sam to design a website where people can learn more about LOT of DC and the Least of These Ministries. Others can also listen to any of the Daily Devotions and the Love Journey Through the Bible recordings on this website.

In 2019, Rev. Sam met with the then Pastor Dr. Rev. Wallace Charles Smith of Shiloh Baptist Church and shared what the LORD God Almighty had led him to do. Pastor Smith responded that “All of these things are needed in our community and Shiloh will support you in what God has led you to do”.

On April 10, 2020, which was Good Friday, Pastor Sammie Fitzgerald (CEO), Elder Pathina Fitzgerald (COO), and Elder Jimmie Fitzgerald (CFO) coordinated the 1st Daily Devotions & Bible Study. They invited their family and friends to join them each day as they grew closer to the image of Jesus Christ in their hearts.

The LORD God Almighty then spoke to Pastor Sam and commanded him “Do not let anything stop you from having Devotions and Bible Study each morning, no matter what plans come your way”. He also said “I will bless you beyond the measure of a measuring stick”.

That is when the LORD revealed to Pastor Sam that the ship He was talking about was the Fellowship that is the sweet communion of the Holy Ghost, the Relationship with the LORD God Almighty, and the Friendship with His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

This 5 Year Anniversary Celebration is a time of worship for who God is and praise for all that God has done, is doing, and is about to do for His children. Pastor Sam has led the study of the New Testament 2 times and is half way through the Old Testament for the 2nd time, going word for word in the Love Journey through the Bible.

May God continue to bless Pastor Sam and anyone associated with the Least of These Ministries, in the Name of Jesus. Amen!!!
